Day
The time it takes for a planet to rotate on its axis (24 hours on Earth)
Year
The time taken by a planet to complete one orbit around a star.
Season
A period during the year where the weather and day length is determined by the tilt of the Earth and its stage of orbit around the Sun.
Terrestrial planets
The inner solar system planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, composed of rocky materials.
Gas giants
Planets that are comprised of mainly gas (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune).
Orbit
One complete circuit around a celestial body.
Satellite
A celestial object that orbits the Sun or a planet (Artificial ones may orbit the Earth, the moon or a planet).

A distinct collection of billions of stars held together by the force of gravity.
