Equipment and Supplies Needed

-Broaches, Files, and Reamers -Endodontic Spoon Excavator, Spreader, and Condensor -Woodson, Articulating Paper, Floss -Irrigating Syringe/Solution -Bead Sterilizer, Butane Torch, or other heat source - Meication -Temp. Filling Material -Endodontic Ruler and Stops - Xray film Lead Apron.
Proceedure Step 1
-Pass Mirror and Explorer (and 2X2 to wipe off explorer)
-Pass aesthetic syringe
- Rinse Mouth

-Place rubber dam on affected tooth
-Inform patient of the purpose of the rubber dam

-While dentist performs tasks, keep area of the tooth free of debris and stay out of line of vision

-While dentist uses slow speed, the assistant may quickly rinse the mouth

-Dentist may want to use spoon excavator or explorer to locate the pulp chamber and canal openings

-Pass barbed broach. dentist may want to use several

-Pass #10 or #15 reamer with stopper, expose a radiograph for the dentist to see.

-Pass additional files until proper width and length of the canal is achieved, then record it on to the patients chart.

-Pass irrigating syringe/solution, keep HVE very close to the tooth so the solution does not splash the patient or dental dam

-Pass paper point with locking cotton pliers until canal(s) are completely dry

-Pass small cotton pellet containing medication

-Select master gutta percha using a radiograph to determine

-Mix sealer for the gutta percha point, so dentist can place it in canal

-Pass endodontic spreader, and necessary gutta percha points and continue until canal(s) is full

- Pass condensor and prepares the torch , the dentist holds 2x2 gauze, and hold HVE close to the tooth

-Use HVE and air water syringe ro ensure the rubber dam is rinsed and free of debris, remove the rubber dam, and rinse patients mouth

-Expose final radiograph, and explain the post op instructions to the patient
