priming
cooked rabbit skin glue coated to keep light from coming through
sizing
quart water, powder rabbit skin glue, heat and put on with utility brush. goes on war and stins canvas. have to hold down with bricks or sizing will warp.. let sit overnight. it will feel like sand paper and become very tight
gesso
thick brush 2 coats on canvas. takes about 2 hours to dry. now should not be able to see through and paint will not go through.
acrylic
have to use pencil to sketch

paint jar color- better than tube. oil tubes cost more than acrylic
differences between oil and acrylic
oil- toxic, drys slow, strong odor, can cause allergic reaction, cannot put acrylic on top of oil.
acrylic- cheaper, dries fast, odorless, same as gesso, can put oil on top of.
materials
water bottle(acrylic is water solouble), pallets (aluminum pan with lip), pallet knives (metal, better than brush for mixing, most often use plastic spoon, brushes (nylonbrushes for acrylic, wooden part for ferrel)
