Ballet in France began to decline after the Romantic period.
Drama

Music
Composers began combining their works with playwrights, creating imaginative and innovative works. They worked to appeal to the senses rather than the intellect.
Realism
Realism was a reaction to the excesses of Romanticism and Neoclassicism. Realism is the accurate, unembellished and detailed depiction of nature or contemporary life. Realist art depicts such ideals as every-day life. Paintings and sculpture look objectively real.
