ABCIXIMAB (ReoPro)
Class: Glycoprotein Inhibitor |
ACTION:
Binds to glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptors on surface of platelets, preventing platelet aggregation. INDICATIONS: pts undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention pts with unstable angina not responding to conventional medical therapy CONTRAINDICATIONS: Active internal bleeding GI bleeding, major surgery, or trauma; use of oral anticoagulants within 7 days ADVERSE REACTIONS: Hypotension,bradycardia,tachycardia, headache,increase sweat,N&V, abd pain, diarrhea DRUG INTERACTIONS: none well documented DOSE: IV 0.25 mg/kg bolus 10 to 60 min before PCI followed by continuous infusion of 0.125 mcg/kg/min (to a max of 10 mcg/min) for 12 h. ROUTE: IV HOW SUPPLIED: 2mg/ml vials |
Use only normal saline or D5W for IV infusion. Add no other medication for the infusion.

ACTION:
lowers a chemical in the brain that stimulates pain nerves and heat-regulating center in the brain. INDICATIONS: minor aches and pains, headache, muscle aches, backache, arthritis, the common cold, flu, toothache, menstrual cramps. CONTRAINDICATIONS: allergies to ingredients in pill. PRECAUTIONS: Pt use no more than10 days to relieve pain (5 days for children) or for more than 3 days to reduce fever; Anyone who drinks three or more alcoholic drinks a day,risk of liver damage exists ADVERSE REACTIONS: nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, miosis (contraction of the pupil), orthostatic hypotension,urinary retention, constipation DOSAGE: Adults and children age 12 up 325mg; 2 tablets ever 4 to 6 hrs. ROUTE: Chewed or Swallowed |
