ت

't' as in 'touch'

ث

'th' as in 'thought'

د

'd' as is 'doubt'

Note: The د is different from the ر. The د stays above the line of writing while the ر dips below.

ذ

'z' as in 'chalaza' (cha-la-Za)

Note: The ذ is different from the ز. The ذ stays above the line of writing while the ز dips below.

ر

'r' as in 'mother'

ز

'z' as in zebra

Note: This is a lower z than ذ.

س

's' as in 'sin'.

ش

'sh' as in 'shoe' or 'shade'

ص

's' as in 'sad'

Note: The different 's' are important. This 's' requires more rounding than س, which is why the word "sad" is used instead of another. "Sad" creates more rounding of the mouth than "sin".

ض

'd' as in 'ditz'

Note: This 'd' is flat; using the 'd' in "dad", for example, is too rounded.

ط

't' as in 'tin'

ظ

'z' as in 'zebra'

Note: You must emphasize the lower 'z'. Focus on how you say 'zebra' then eliminate the other letters. This is the lowest 'z'.

ل

'L' as in 'lamb', 'lion', or 'loose'.

Note: From my knowledge, this is the same as the English 'L'. But if you have questions, ask a professional.

ن

'n' as in 'nunnery' or if you have trouble saying the 'n' by itself, 'nunnery' is also an acceptable 'n' to use.
