When was it made?
The Olive Branch Petition was adopted by the Continental Congress in July 1775 in an attempt to avoid a full-blown war with Great Britain. The petition affirmed American loyalty to Great Britain and entreated the king to prevent further conflict. The petition was rejected, and in August 1775 the colonies were formally declared in rebellion by the Proclamation of Rebellion.

Thomas Jefferson was the primary author of the declaration of independence. He lived during April 13, 1743 – July 4, 1826. he was a very influential founding father. Major events during his presidency include the Louisiana Purchase (1803) and the Lewis and Clark Expedition (1804–1806), as well as escalating tensions with both Britain and France that led to war with Britain in 1812, after he left office.
Who was George Mason? When did he live and why was he important?
George Mason IV (December 11, 1725 – October 7, 1792) was an American patriot, statesman, and delegate from Virginia to the U.S. Constitutional Convention. Along with James Madison, he is called the "Father of the Bill of Rights."[1][2][3][4] For these reasons he is considered one of the "Founding Fathers" of the United States.[5][6]

Like anti-federalist Patrick Henry, Mason was a leader of those who pressed for the addition of explicit States rights [7] and individual rights to the U.S. Constitution as a balance to the increased federal powers, and did not sign the document in part because it lacked such a statement.

The Articles were the first form of governmet in the US. They were weak and the government had no control. Everything was controlled by the states. Nobody's needs were met after a while and they were thrown out.

George Washington was the military leader of the revolutionary war. he served as the first president and was a man that everybody respected and trusted. When he participated in the continental congress it gained instant legitimacy. He was president for two terms. He supported Alexander Hamilton and the federalists.
