Rabindranath Tagore
Indian poet, painter, and musician from Bengal who received the Nobel prize and protested against British repression in India.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
Indian political and spiritual leader who fought against anti-Indian discrimination in South Africa. He became a leader of the Indian National Congress and was a crucial part in the negotiations leading to independence.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah
The founder of Pakistan and at first advocated cooperation between Hindus and Muslims then asked for separate states for each. He became governor-general of Pakistan in 1947
