Ottoman: Turkish language. Dhimmis are protected.

Safavid: mullahs are mosque leaders. They are supervised by the State. Women are suppressed.

Mughal: Jizha is abolished. Mughal/Hindu marriage is encouraged. Sati and widow remarriage is prohibitted. Elaborate court.

Ottoman: Shahs beautify dities. Coffee houses are introduced to culture.

Safavid: Persian becomes language of the court and beauracracy. Active in money and trade.

Mughal: Combination of Muslim and Hindu culture. End of empire, women's and children's rights declne.

Safavid: Shi'ite muslims.

Mughal: Sunni muslims, but also contains Hindu and Christian minorities. Din-i-Ilam- Akbar's unified religion.

Ottoman: Mehmed I defeats Timur, reunifies empire. 1453, Mehmed II conquers Byzantine.

Safavid: 1514, looses to the Ottomans at Chaldrin. Turkish chiefs become nobility.

Mughal: Defeated Lodi 1526. Akbar cooperated with Hindu regional princes.

Ottoman: Jannisarries control absolute monarchy. Wazier is head of beauracracy. No order of succession.

Safavid: Import Russian youths for military. Abbas the Great ruled at the height of the empire (absolute monarchy). Ismail- first leader. Sahal Din (folloers known as Red Heads). 1722- Empire falls, Nadir 1736.

Mughal: Babur is founder. Little reform done to the Lodi administration when Akbar takes over. Auragzeb wanted to purify Islam, but that didn't work out

Ottoman: Built the Suleymaniye mosque, schools, hospitals. Lots of poetry, architecture, and carpets. Generally geared toward military and expansion.

Safavid: Artillery and hard guns. Imported European technology and advice. Mosques extremely important and popular.

Mughal: Built Taj Mujal. Improved calendar.

Ottoman: Geared toward war and expansion. Muslims and Christians were typically traders. Guilds were formed.

Safavid: Mostly handicraft production. Also, imperial workshops.

Mughal: Created market days for women. Cotton textiles were popular.

Ottoman: Extended over Egypt, North Africa, Hungary. Largest Muslim Empire.

Safavid: Modern day Iraq.

Mughal: Spread over Indian territory. Lost kingdom, 1526.
