Safavid: Import Russian youths for military. Abbas the Great ruled at the height of the empire (absolute monarchy). Ismail- first leader. Sahal Din (folloers known as Red Heads). 1722- Empire falls, Nadir 1736. Mughal: Babur is founder. Little reform done to the Lodi administration when Akbar takes over. Auragzeb wanted to purify Islam, but that didn't work out |

Ottoman: Built the Suleymaniye mosque, schools, hospitals. Lots of poetry, architecture, and carpets. Generally geared toward military and expansion.
Safavid: Artillery and hard guns. Imported European technology and advice. Mosques extremely important and popular. Mughal: Built Taj Mujal. Improved calendar. |

Safavid: Mostly handicraft production. Also, imperial workshops. Mughal: Created market days for women. Cotton textiles were popular. |
