When you make the jump from many specific observations to a general observation, your generalization might not be correct every time. “jumping to conclusions”- you draw too far a conclusion from not enough examples

Why is sample size important in understanding an experimental design?
An adequate sample size controls for chance events and individual variations in response and thus enables us to place more confidence in the outcome.
What are control txs and why are they important?
Control means the variable being tested may be absent or what have you. They are important because the control can be used to compare the experimented group.
What is the placebo effect?
Also called the placebo response. A remarkable phenomenon in which a placebo can sometimes improve a patient's condition simply because the person has the expectation that it will be helpful.
9. Why is understanding the scientific method important in understanding A&P and evaluating medical studies?
Understanding the scientific method is not only helpful because it is universal but because it can keep experimenters true to what matters, the science, regardless if the results yield what they want.
What is scientific law?
A scientific law is a statement based on repeated experimental observations that describes some aspects of the universe
what is scientific theory?
A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation.
How is scientific theory and law different when used in scientific and non-scientific contexts?
Laws of science do not govern the universe, they simply describe it. A theory in science is not a mere guess but a summary of conclusions drawn from a large body of observed facts.
