Social Structures
In the early part of the Postclassical era, the Arab peninsula was dominated by kin-related clan groups. These groups were often nomadic and were often rivals against one another. The cycle of vengeance played a role in this time period. Women enjoyed greater freedom and often played important economic roles.
Once Muhammad start to spread the ideas of Allah and the umayyad clan took over women started to increase in status, bride-price also occured. Men could marry up to four wifes.

Cultural
Early years of postclassical arabia, most people were nomadic farmers and herders. and the arab material cultural wasn't highly developed, the main focus was poetry which was told orally.
Later on, the arabs were still tradtional in some beliefs but were open to influences from others. During the abbasid rule the artisic expressions were focused on mosques and palaces. also kept much greek learning from dying away. arabs served as a cross road from which different ideas collided.

Religion
In the early part of the postclassical era the Bedouin religion was a blend of animism and polytheism.
After Muhammads role in the arab world islam appered, worshipping one god, Allah. but the islamic area allowed other religions like christianity. though they might have had to pay a tax they were allowed.
there are five pillars of islam. 1: confession of faith, one god, Allah. 2: to pray facing mecca. 3: fast during Ramadan. 4: zakat or charity. 5: hajj or pilgrimage to mecca.
the Ka'ba was a religous icon in both pre islamic and during muhammads time and onwards.
Zoroastrianism: an animist religion, stressed moral choice.
Mawali: musim converts.

Clan wars between different clans in the preislamic world. during muahammad's time interaction between thoses faithful to muhammad and the umayyad.

The main towns in pre-islamic and during islamic time were the towns of Mecca, Medina, and Yathrib. during umayyad rule the capital was Damascus. and during Abbasid rule it was moved to Baghdad.
