C-056 IFR Takeoff Minimums
|
Standard takeoff minimums are defined as 1sm visibility or RVR 5000 for aircraft having 2 engines or less.
RVR repports if avail shall be used. When standard takeoff minimums or greater are used the Touchdown zone RVR is controlling. Takeoff minimums lower than published shall not be used. GOM 7-41 |
|
C-078 IFR Lower than Standard Take-off Minimums
RVR 1600 |
ONE of following:
High Intensity Runway Lights(HIRL) Operative Centerline Lights(CL) Serviceable Runway Centerline Markings(RCLM) If none of the above then: other runway markings or runway lighting provide adequate visual reference to continuously identify the takeoff surface and maintain directional control. |
|
C-078 IFR Lower than Standard Take-off Minimums
Touchdown RVR 1200 (beg of takeoff roll) Mid RVR 1200 Rollout RVR 1000 |
Provided one of the following:
Daylight: Serviceable RCLM or HIRL or Operative CL lights Night: HIRL or Operative CL lights |
|
C-078 IFR Lower than Standard Take-off Minimums
Touchdown RVR 1000 (beg of takeoff roll) Mid RVR 1200 Rollout RVR 1000 |
Provided one of the following combinations:
Operative runway CL lights OR HIRL and serviceable RCLM. |
|
C-078 IFR Lower than Standard Take-off Minimums
Touchdown RVR 600 (beg of takeoff roll) Mid RVR 600 Rollout RVR 600 |
ALL of the following:
HIRL and Operative runway CL lights. |
|
RVR requirements
For operations above 1600RVR and below 1600 RVR |
For RVR at or above1600
The touchdown zone RVR report (if available) is controlling. The Mid RVR report may be substituted for an unavailable TDZ report. For below 1600 RVR A min of two operative RVR reporting systems are required All available RVR reports are controlling. |
|
The use of Far End RVR sensor
|
Extremely long runways (DEN) utilize four RVR sensors.
TDZ, MID, Rollout, Far End. The Far End RVR is not controlling and is not to be used as one of the two required RVR systems. GOM 7-50 |

What does Exemption 3585 apply to
|
Regular scheduled domestic operations and
On-line supplemental operations (Charter) On-line means both dep and arriv airport are listed in Ops Specs C70 C-55 does not apply to: Flag operations (Canada) Off line supplemental - either dep or arrival airports or both are not listed in C70 |
|
Exemption 3585 - what does it allow you to do
|
Allows a flight to be dispatched to a destination when weather forecasts indicate in the remarks section conditionally the weather will be below authorized minimums at the time of arrival.
The weather for either destination or first alternate(or both) may indicate by use of conditional words such as "BECMG, PROB40, or TEMPO", in the remarks section, that the weather could be below minimums at the time of arrival. Provided the weather in the main body for destination and alternate will be at or above weather minimums at the time of arrival. |
|
Exemption 3585 - How low can the weather be forecast at:
Destination First Alternate Second Alternate |
The destination airport weather may not be less than one-half of the lowest visibility value for the instrument approach expected to be used.
The first alternate weather forecast may not be less than one-half of the alternate weather minimum ceiling and visibilty. The second alternate must indicate in the main body and remarks the weather will be at or above alternate airport ceiling and visibility values. |
|
Exemption 3585 - Minimum Fuel Required
|
To fly to the destination, thereafter to fly to the most distant alternate, thereafter to fly for 45 minutes at normal cruising fuel consumption.
|
