Describe the 3 types of authenticity
1. Experiential authenticity- refers to "the entire sensory experience of music performances."being in the groove"
2. Cultural-historical authenticity= connected to how music is represented.It makes a claim to the origin of music in either historical or mythical past.
3. Unique authenticity- it raises the issue of who owns cultural products and whether it is possible to talk about collective creation and ownership of the music of a community, a people, an ethnic group.
What is a ritual?
a reptetitve social pattern composed of sequences of symbolic activities such as (speech, singing, dancing, gestures). They concrete cultural ideas. examples would be: pep rally's on friday at school, standing and saying the pledge at a graduation
