A companion animal isn't something you eat or use for food or other by- products and a production animal is used to make by-products and you could eat them.

Pandas and Elephants wouldn't be able to survive without the help of humans. Humans get more resources.

For an Elephant you could domesticate them with a diet and social hierarchy. Their ability to breed in captivity might cause a problem.

Animal welfarist- animals have rights, ok with fenced in, doesn't care if it's fenced in as long as it's not abuse.



Animal rightist- same rights as humans, shouldn't be fenced in, believe animals should have everything humans have.

It's important because they need to know how to handle the animal. They also need to know where the flight zone is.

The dark side and the light side had a greater outcome because 4 out of the 5 rolly pollies went to the dark side and only one stayed on the light side.

Instinctive Behaviors: maternal- the mom protects the baby. Herd- safety in numbers. Territory- like to stay in the same environment



Learned Behaviors: when they get fed. Tricks. Where to go to get food.

The flight zone is where they'll take off if something is in this zone. For cows they have less of a flight zone when approached by a horse. That would be a good way to move a cow.

No sudden movements, no cramming the animals in a small space and no loud noises.
