Break/ split up
Both verbs can mean to sever or divide. Not surprisingly this means to completely end a relationship (almost always a romantic one).

Ex: They broke up after the argument about who left the cap off the tooth paste.
Cheer up
Cheer often means “happiness”. “Cheer up” logically means “get totally happy” or “stop being sad”.

Ex: Cheer up! It is not the end of the world. You can just catch the next train.
Do it up
To do something to an extreme (usually very positive).

Ex: It was her birthday so we really did it up: we ate at fancy restaurant, went to a great club, and stayed out late.
Drink up
Often this means “drink a lot” or “finish your drink”

Ex: Drink up and I will pour you some more lemonade.
Eat up
Often this means “eat a lot” or “finish what you are eating”.

Ex: Eat up guys - we want to finish all the pizza!
End up
The very end of a situation - the outcome or result

Ex: We ended up travelling to Greece because the airfare was so cheap.
Fill up
This means to fill completely.

Ex: Do not just give me a little water – fill it up! I just ran 10 kilometers.
Grow up
To grow (emotionally) or mature

Ex: She really grew up when her family had economic problems and she had to take on more responsibility.
Listen up
This usually means listen 100%.

Ex: Everybody listen up! The following information is essential!
Live it up
Live life to the fullest.

Ex: It is New Year’s Eve; let us live it up!
Sit up
The means sit 100% correctly – no bad posture!

Ex: When you are at the dinner table sit up like a gentleman – your posture is horrible.
Sober up
Sober means to “not be drunk” ; to sober up means to metabolize all of the alcohol in your system.

Ex: He had to sober up before driving.
Speak up
Speak louder.

Ex: Can you speak up? I cannot hear you over this music.
Speed up
Increase your speed.

Ex: Can you speed up? I need to get to the airport by 10 o'clock or I will miss my plane.
Turn up
Increase the volume

Ex: Can you turn up the volume, we cannot hear in the back of the room.
