What is a caste system?

A caste system is a social class that a person belongs to by birth.

Thar Desert, Indus River, Eastern Ghats, Western Ghats, Deccan Plateau, and the Himalaya Mountains.

How did the physical features influence the settlement patters in Ancient India?

Lots of settlements by the rivers but mountains did not have lots of settlement, and had to live by the resources.

How does the geographic location of India affect trade?

Himalayas are a trade barrier, some river currents too fast to travel on, and isolated making trade difficult.
