Six levels of structural organization
CCTOSO:
Chemical
Cellular
Tissue
Organ
Sytem
Organism
Chemicals comprise of two components.
Atoms and molecules
Atoms: NOC (Nitrogen, Oxygen, Calcium)
Molecules: PCFV (Proteins, Carbohydrates, Fats, and Vitamins
Cellular consists of what material?
Cells such as muscle cells, nerve cells, and blood cells.
Tissues are made of groups of cells and materials surrounding them.

List the four types of tissue cells.
Epithelial
Muscle
Connective
Nervous
Epithelial tissue:
Protective tissue found in the linings of cavities and organs ans as part of the integumentary system or skin.
This tissue helps to protect the structures it lines from injury and fluid loss.
Muscle tissue:
Skeletal muscle
Smooth muscle
Cardiac muscle
Skeletal muscle:
long fibers and voluntary body movements.

Smooth muscle assist in organ function

Cardiac muscle maintain heart beat and blood flow
Connective tissue:
Tissue that binds the body together and supports posture and function.
Nervous tissue:
Motor functions both voluntary and involuntary. Also, passing electronic messages from the brain to the body.
Organs consists of two or more types of tissues.
Heart, lungs, brain, liver, and kidneys.
System is made of several organs that have a common function.
Mouth, pharynx (throat), esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine.
Organism
Largest structural level is the organism level. All the parts which make up the body and function with each other form the total organism (one living individual).
