Pectoral fascia

- invests pec major
- is continuous inferiorly with fascia of ant abdominal wall

Axillary Fascia
- from lateral border pec major
- forms floor of axilla
Clavipectoral Fascia

- deep to pectoral fascia and pectoralis major
- descends from clavicle
- encloses subclavius and then pec minor
- becomes continuous with axillary fascia
- COSTOCORACOID MEMBRANE = part of clavipectoral fascia between pec minor + subclavius, pierced by lateral pectoral nerve (supplies pec major)
- SUSPENSORY LIGAMENT OF AXILLA = the part of clavipectoral fascia inferior to pec minor, supports axillary fascia and pulls it and the skin inferior to it upward during abduction of the arm forming the axillary fossa

Deltoid Fascia

- ensheaths scapulohumeral mm that cover the scapula + the bulk of the shoulder
- invests deltoid and is continuous with pectoral fascia anteriorly and the dense infraspinous fascia posteriorly
- muscles that cover the anterior + posterior surfaces of scapula are covered by deep fascia which is attached to the margins of the scapula → ossofibrous subscapular, supraspinous + infraspinous compartments

Brachial Fascia
- encloses the arm like a snug sleeve
- attaches to epicondyles of the humerus + the olecranon of the ulna
- continous with the antebrachial fascia
- 2 intermuscular septa (medial and lateral) extend from the deep surface of the brachial fascia and attach to the central shaft and medial and lateral supraepicondylar ridges of the humerus → these septa divide the arm into anterior (flex) and posterior (extensor) fascial compartments
Antebrachial fascia
- forearm compartments surrounded by fascia and separated by interosseous membrane connecting the radius + ulna
- thickenes posteriorly to form the extensor retinaculum
- also continues anteriorly as flexor retinaculum → carpal tunnel → flexor tendons + median n
Palmar fascia
- deep fascia of upper limb continues from extensor + flexor retinaculum as palmar fascia
- palmar aponeurosis = thick, tendinous, triangular → continuous with fibrous tendon sheaths of the digits
- base of palmar aponeurosis = superficial transverse metacarpal ligament
- strong skin ligaments extend from palmar aponeurosis to the skin, holding the palmar skin close to aponeurosis
