AKA- the brain case; surrounds the brain. 8 bones
In the skull, what is the frontal?
their is one frontal and it extends back to the coronal suture.
Parietal?
there are 2 parietals on the left and right behing the fronal bone, seperated by sagittal suture
Temporal?
There are 2 temporals on the sides of the skull (temple)- separated from the parietal bones by squamous suture
Occipital?
1;back of the skull; below lamdoid suture
Spenoid?
1; bat shaped, across at back of eye sockets; keystone bone of cranial floor; all others are attatched
Ethmoid?
1; medial protion of the ey sockets
Sutures?
immovable joints- in joint is cartilage; when replace by bone you have a solid brain case
