Allergy

Role of IgE antibody
enters the tissues and binds to a high affinity receptor on the surface of the mast cells, and basophils in the blood. and now these cells are sensitized and ready to respond to allergens. so the next time this atopic person encounters the same allergen, some of the allergen molecules enter tissue and find their way to mast cells specific for the allergen, causing degranulation and release of inflammatory mediators. This is type 1 hypersensitivity
