Facts about Biological Warefare Agents?
-Difficult to identify, probably can't or useless to cordon off area of attack.
-Symptoms are delayed, usually days to weeks after an attack.
-Limited vaccines, antibodies, and/or antitoxins and antivrials for some agents.
-Must isolate patient and crucial if communicable diseaseis involved.
Facts about Chemical Warefare Agents?
-Quickly disovered, possible to cordon off contaminated/attack area.
-Rapid, usually minutes to hours after attack.
-Easlily observed (colored residue, dead foilage, pungent odor, dead insects and animals).
-Can be treated with chemical antidotes.
-After decontamination and/or weather, no further need for protection measures or risk of further contamination.
What is the operational life of M9 paper?
-One year in temperate, tropic and desert regions.
-Two years, in frigid zones after removal from shipping bag.
-Shelf life is 8 years from manufactured date.
What is M9 paper used for?
To be worn on clothing or attached to vehicals or equipment.
What is M8 paper used for?
For detecting chemical agents around buildings.
Facts about M8 Chemical Agent Detection Paper?
-Detects G & V nerve agents and H and L blister agents.
-Use only white light to read.
-M8 paper will function in snow, rain and sleet, but not if saturated with water.
-M8 paper reaction is immediate at temps above 32 Degrees F and slow to several minutes below 32 deg F.
COMMAND AND CONTROL

Indicates; attack is probable in less than 30 min.

Action;
-MOPP 2 or as directed
-protect and cover assets
-go to protection shelters
