If recovery indicated (reducing AOA, roll, yaw, increasing airspeed) or airspeed > 160
*8. Lateral stick - NEUTRALIZE

When recovery indicated
*9. Rudder - smoothly center

If out of control passing 10,000 feet AGL:
*10. Eject
Procedure: *Blown tire during takeoff

If decision is made to stop:

If take off is continued:

If decision to perform shipboard landing is made:5. Perform normal carrier approach
Upon touchdown simultaneously perform:

7. Speedbrakes - RETRACT
8. Rudder - AS REQUIRED
Warning: up to 180 pounds may be required to remain within the landing area on arrested rollout or bolter
9. Control stick - smoothly apply up to full back stick
If aircraft bolters:
10. Rudder pedals - center once airborne and set fly-away pitch attitude
Procedure: *Brake Fail – Taxi
*1. Throttle - IDLE
*2. Brakes - RELEASE (both cockpits)
*3. Anti-skid sw - OFF
*4. Attempt braking
If brakes still unavailable:
*5. Parking brake handle - PULL
6. Arresting hook - DOWN
7. External lights - ON
8. Transmit to GRND/TWR
9. Throttle - OFF (priort to impact / departing paved surface)
Procedure: *Brake Fail – Afloat
*1. Throttle - IDLE
*2. Parking brake handle - PULL
*3. Hook - DOWN
*4. Transmit
*5. Steer to avoid hazards
Procedure: *Brake fail - landing
*1. Go around, if able
If go-around not feasible:
*1. Brakes - RELEASE
*2. Anti-skid - OFF
*3. Attempt braking (WARNING: without anti-skid, judicious brake application is required to avoid blowing a tire)
*4. Hook - DOWN (1000' prior to arresting gear)
5. Throttle - OFF (if departing the runway)
If airborne:
1. Anti-skid sw - OFF
2. Attempt a short field arrestment
Procedure: *Gina Failure (In-Flight)
1. Revert to standby instruments
2. VMC, determine failure mode, if INS, cmnd RST on DATA:ACFT

*1. Emergency O2 activate
2. VMC, reset GEN / check BATT, land, gear - emergency extend, no flap/slat app, arrested landing, short field arrestment (no NWS)
Procedure: *Electrical Fire
*1. GEN sw - OFF
2. Non-essential electrical equipment - OFF
If fire out:
3. Land as soon as practical
If fire persists:
VMC, BATT - OFF, Emergency O2, Land as soon as possible, Gear - EMERGENCY EXTEND, No-flap short-field arrested landing (no NWS)
Procedure: *Elimination of smoke/fumes in cockpit
*1. Altitude - below 25,000 feet
*2. Airflow knob - OFF
If unable to see / clear smoke:
*3. Airspeed - REDUCE
*4. Warn crew / secure cockpit
*5. Seat - LOWER
*6. Visor - DOWN
*7. MDC Firing handle - PULL
*8. Land as soon as possible
Procedure: *FIRE (ground / start) / light
*1. Execute Emergency Shutdown
Procedure: *FIRE (takeoff) / light
If decision is made to stop:

If fire is confirmed and unable to abort:

Catapult:

2. Land as soon as practical
If canopy will not lock:
3. Slow below 200 KIAS and 25,000 feet MSL, air flow OFF, lower seat and visor, stow loose gear
Procedure: *Tail Pipe Hot Light
Ground:
*1. Execute emergency shutdown
In-flight:
*1. Throttle - IDLE (min for safe flight)
2. Monitor for engine fire indications
3. Secondary indications - CHECK
