What is the operations process? |
The major mission command activities performed during operations; planning, preparing, executing, and continuously assessing the operation. |

What is preparing? |
Consists of those activities performed by units and soldiers to improve their ability to execute an operation. |

What is executing? |
Putting a plan into action by applying combat power to accomplish the mission. |

What is Assessment? |
The determination of the progress toward accomplishing a task, creating an effort, or achieving an objective. It is a continuous activity. |

The continuous assessment of the current situation used to determine if the current operation is proceeding accordingly to the commanders intent, and if planned future operations are supportable. |
