Authority of the Investigator
The supervisor conducting an administrative investigation is a direct representative of

the Sheriff and acts for him.

Administrative investigations are considered CONFIDENTIAL personnel records. The investigator will limit the discussion of the investigation to only those Department members who must be involved, such as

Internal Affairs Bureau personnel, Advocacy Services Unit personnel, the subject's unit commander, area commander, and Department executives.

subject to discipline for violating MPP section 3-01/030.10.

reasonably suspects that the employee used alcohol prior to the event under investigation.
