Adenosine (Adenocard) Contraindications

1. 2nd or 3rd degree AV block


2. Sick Sinus Syndrome


3. Asthma, COPD


4. Poison or drug-induced tachycardia

Adenosine (Adenocard) Adult dose

1st dose = 6 mg IV bolus followed by 20 mL flush



2nd dose = 12 mg IV bolus

Adenosine (Adenocard) Pedi dose

1st dose = 0.1 mg/kg IV/ IO push (max of 6 mg)



2nd dose = 0.2 mg/kg IV/IO push (max of 12 mg)
