Fist you add 5+5=10 so you put the 0 under the 5 then you carry your 1 to the tens place or just say obver the 8 and 4.

Then you add 8+4=12 then you add the 1 that you carried to the 12 which equals 13.

So your answer would be 130 and what youe have just learned is the process of addition.
