What are the advantages and disadvantages of cost reimbursable type contracts?
- Risk rests on the government.
- Used when risk or performance is high. - Government is obligated to reimburse the contractor for all allowable, reasonable, and allocable costs incurred and pay a fee in accordance with the contract terms. - Contractor agrees to provided "best effort", could result in the delivery of nothing. - Cost savings stays with the government, - cost overrun paid for by the government. |
