Inflection of case

Form or position of a noun or pronoun which makes it as the subject or the object of a verb, adjective, preposition, playing the part or adverb

Four cases nominative, accusative, dative, genitive

Nominative case

Indicates the subject, predicate, or noun in direct address

Instead of the wind blows it's the winds blow.,a verb that Agrees with subject in number and person., nominative address has peculiar intonation and independent position in the sentence"O Mary go and call the cattle home!"

Accusative inflection

Marks a noun or pronoun as the object of the transitive verb or preposition, or adjective by placing the noun or pronoun after the verb, preposition, or adjective

The dog bit my "brother," and"me".., he is eager "for gain."or as a modifier of an adverb indicating the direction of an activity toward an object He stayed an hour, a noun or pronoun which is predicated of an accusative subject is in the accusative the president made him "a general."I supposed it to be "me."

Dative inflection

Indicates that an action or feeling is directed toward a person or thing to his or it's advantage or disadvantage

Two ways to do so: place the noun or pronoun between the verb and an accusative.., the mother is making "her boy" a new coat the dative is distinguished by it's position not it's form..., Or place the inflectional preposition and noun together" the mother is making a new coat "for her boy John", she will give his old one "to his little brother."

Genitive inflection

The genitive that modifies a noun or pronoun plays the part of an adjective

Origin, possessive, composition, characteristic, measure, a whole from which a part is taken: Shakespeare's drama, a flock of birds, an hour's delay, a piece of bread

Gender inflection

Similar to how Latin languages treat their words with gender but not used as much as it once was

Inflections of reflexive, reciprocal, and relative pronouns

Reflexive endings have no change are preceded by to or for in dative inflections.., reciprocal have the old s genitive along with the new of genitive they never weary of each other's company.., relative: stands before the verb the dative(to ,for) and genitive(of) have inflectional prepositions before them as case signs
