Alphanumeric data
a field's data type determines the kind of data that you can enter in the field, such as numbers or text, or a combination of numbers and text (also called alphanumeric data).
AutoNumber
automatically adds up a unique number to the primary key field for each record in the table.
Blank database template
creates database with an empty table.
data type
determines the kind of data that you can enter in the field.
default value property
enters the same field value in a field every time a new record is added to the table.
field property
describes a field's contents beyond the fields basic data type.
description property
an optional field property that you can use to describe what to enter in the field.
design grid
in the top half of the table window.
design view
you can add,delete, and make changes on the way the fields store data.
fields property pane
depend on a fields data type. For example, if the selected field in the design grid has the AutoNumber data type, the Field Properties pane displays the properties for an AutoNumber field. If the selected field has another data type, the Field Properties pane displays only these properties for that field's type.
field size property
sets the number of characters you can store in the text, number, or AutoNumber field.
format property
specifies how you want access to display numbers, dates, times, and text.

the field that contains a unique field value for each record in the table.
required property
specifies wether you must enter a field value in a record.

creates the database and one or more table, query, form, and report objects that you use to enter and view data.
