Write a brief summary of the story "Adrift on an Ice-Pan." |
Answers will vary, but should be similar to:
Grenfell got on his dogsled to go help a boy who needed medical attention. He went over what he thought was solid ice, but his dogs and sled began sinking in the loose slob. Grenfell and his dogs ended up getting onto a pan of ice that was floating out to sea. Sadly he had to kill some of the dogs for their fur, while on the ice, so he could stay alive. He made a flag from his shirt and legs of the dead dogs, then waved it to attract attention. Five fishermen saw him and forced a boat through the icy water to rescued him. |
