Unable to install printer error

You don't have the rights to install printer. Someone at the administrative level set it up so that you cannot install. Other possibilities, there is no printer to install. Make sure exist, on the network, you have the right IP address, right UNC(naming path) whatever it may be, make sure it is turned on etc. Things like that

No connectivity

Probably talking about a printer we use before and suddenly is not there. Check to see if you physically connected to it. If it's a network printer is it getting good DHCP? Can others on the network can they connect to it? A lot of times it's a network problem and nothing to do with the printer itself. Do a mental reinstall check device drivers . If it was a driver update rollback your drivers.

Anytime you have a problem with a printer do a mental reinstall. What does Mike referred to as mentally install?

When installing printer make sure shows up in device manager make sure the printer queue. Do a test print etc. If the driver has recently updated do a do a rollback of the drivers

Access denied

Another administrative issue. Remember you have to have permission to access a printer.

No image on printer display

Is it turned on number one

number two is a printer in some sort of sleep mode, some kind of keystroke you pressed.

You could have a bad printer display . You can even buy parts for that.

Paper not feeding/paper jam

Typically the exact same problems.

Often problem with a pickup roller or separate pads. These wear out and you have to get new ones. There are maintenance kids to take care of that.

Also beware humidity it's the great ruler of paper, another issue

Low memory error

We're talking about laser printers here. All laser printers have some type of memory. In fact they all use Ram. You have two choices. Can reduce the resolution of the print. Or you can buy more ram..

(regular ram will work. And cheaper than specialty Ram from printer companies)

Error codes

Such as PC load letter, error code 2392 etc.

helps us find problems. Research the error codes online or in documentation and you will be fine

Garbled characters on paper

Bad or corrupted driver often. Also If you're trying to send wrong thing to wrong printer you're going to have trouble. If a corrupted print job causes garbled characters causing proceeding print jobs to be garbled. Often To fix select a print job in the spooler delete it and restart. Rarely rollback of drivers may fix..

Vertical lines on page

Laser printer issue. Almost always points to this photosensitive matter on your optical roller such as little piece of paper a little piece of string around a which make corrupted image. The answer is take a toner cartridge and replace it it is nearly impossible to remove the debris without further damaging it is too sensitive

Color printing the wrong print color

More often is a driver issue. Another possibility is you lost one of your colors. It's going to happen to any color. So it's usually a driver issue or dead ink for whatever color printer you are using

Printing blank pages

Any type of printer will print blank pages if there's a physical problem. Laser printer and the primary Corona is dead. If it's an ink jet and their is no ink in cartridges. A thermal printer with a heating element is not working etc.

Streaks

Usually and inkjet issues. It's time to go maintenance mode in the inkjet printer to clean it up.

Faded prints

That could be anything depending on the type. Laser printer you low on. toner. If it's a impact printer your ribbon could be out. Inject it may be clogged Jets, low ink or other issues.

Ghost images

laser printers more than anything else. Usually a rubber pieces broken in toner causing ink to smear. Simply replace the toner.

Toner not to fused to paper

Something wrong with your fuser assembly. Replace it

Creased paper

Usually happens because one of your pickup rollers is in good shape and the other isn't. Put a maintenance kit on it and get rid of that problem..

The cornerstone what makes a laser printer work is what?

Toner cartridge

The photo sensitive drum is where in a laser printer

Inside the toner cartridge

Was printer type uses electrical charges on a photo sensitive drum

Laser printer

The printer the primary Corona puts a negative charge on the photo sensitive drum

Laser printer

Laser write the image on a photosensitive drum

Laser printer

Name the seven steps of a laser printer process

Processing, charging, exposing, developing, transfer, fusing, cleaning

The part of the laser printing process. Where the print job is stored on local memory on the laser printer itself?

(there are some situations where it doesn't happen but he usually does)

Processing. Step 1 of laser printer process..

Primary Corona puts on a strong negative charge in laser printer process

Charging..Step 2 of laser printer process..

When the laser comes in and writes on the photo sensitive drum and reduces its negative charge where it hits it..

Exposing Step 3 of laser printer process..

When toner comes out of the toner hoper unto the photo sensitive drum.

Developing..Step 4 of laser printer process..

Corona chargers the paper with a very strong positive charge then as the paper clip gets really really close to the drum it goes bam into the paper. (Making the paper stick and not smear)

Transfer

When the fuser assembly presses the the toner into the paper with heat and pressure..

Fusing. Step 6

When uses a scraper is clean off access toner

Cleaning process step 7

An ____ printer uses a printhead connected to a carriage that contains the ink. A belt and motor move the carriage back and forth so the ink can cover the whole page. A roller grabs paper from a paper tray (usually under or inside the printer) or feeder (usually on the back of the printer) and advances it through the printer.

Ink jet

The ink is ejected through tiny tubes. Most inkjet printers use heat to move the ink, while a few use a mechanical method. The heat-method printers use tiny resistors or electroconductive plates at the end of each tube that literally boil the ink; this creates a tiny air bubble that ejects a droplet of ink onto the paper, thus creating a portion of the image

Ink jet

The ink is stored in special small containers called ink cartridges. Older inkjet printers had two cartridges: one for black ink and another for colored ink. The color cartridge had separate compartments for cyan (blue), magenta (red), and yellow ink, to print colors by using a method known as CMYK (you’ll read more about CMYK later in this chapter). If your color cartridge ran out of one of the colors, you had to purchase a whole new color cartridge or deal with a messy refill kit.

Ink jet

True or false both ink jet and color laser printers need calibration for accuracy and maintenance..

True

____ s use a heated printhead to create a high-quality image on special or plain paper. You’ll see two kinds of thermal printers in use. The first is the direct thermal printer, and the other is the thermal wax transfer printer. Direct thermal printers use a heating element to burn dots into the surface of special heat-sensitive thermal paper.

Thermal printers
