With an increase in the amount of people living with chronic diseases or a disability, the demand for health and aged care services has risen. The govt has proposed initiatives for this problem:


 More nurses.
 Expansion of the role of nurses.
 Increase of community care eg meals‐on‐wheels.


 With more people suffering poor health, the workforce can’t be contributed to at the highest level. The govt has proposed initiatives for this problem:


Pension for people after retirement.


All Australian employers to provide compulsory superannuation


cover for all eligible employees.


Private superannuation contributions are also encourage.

A volunteer is someone who performs a service to the community on a voluntary basis

Explain the availability of carers and volunteers in regards to a growing and ageing population?

The trend is decreasing and must be addressed and increased to be able to cope with the increase of older people because of Australia’s ageing population.


Our ageing population has led to an increase in the number of Australians with a chronic disease or disability.


Future levels of chronic diseases could be reduced if younger people control the more significant risk factors for developing chronic disease, such as smoking, obesity, excessive drinking, and physical inactivity.
