1)SECULAR HUMANISM: believe that social institutions are more important than the individual, because individual live only 70 or 80 years and societies last for 100s of years
2) The Bible: presents that each human has worth and value, not just as a part of the society. societies are for a moment and humans have eternal souls
How are we alienated from God?
Alienation took placed when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden. Now all of mankind is alienated, or "out of order", in their relationships with God, other humans, and with ourselves. We are out of order because of sin.
