What is the procedure for dealing with a re-railed vehicle? |
After the derailment of any vehicle (carriages) it must not be used again until a train examiner has thoroughly examined the vehicle and certified that it is fit to travel. Alstom must examine and certify Loco, Sprinter and Vlocity. Test that the brakes apply and release correctly. Apply the brake and test in forward and reverse direction. Run at low speed: - Perform a running test of the brake - Examine for any abnormality in running Speed may be increased upon verification of satisfactory braking performance. |
