Anything from nature that people use to meet their needs.
RENEWABLE RESOURCES
Resources that are replaced naturally or grown quickly.
NONRENEWABLE RESOURCES
These are resources that can not be replaced.
WHAT ARE TYPES OF RESOURCES?
Natural resources, renewable resources, nonrenewable resources and fossil fuels are types of resources.
FOSSIL FUELS
These include coal, oil and natural gas.
NONRENEWABLE RESOURCES
These are things people use to make things they need or want.
FARMING
About half the world lives in rural areas and are farmers.
SUBSISTENCE FARMING
This is when farmers grow enough to feed themselves.
COMMERCIAL AGRICULTURE
This is when large amounts of food are produced and sold on the open market.
POLLUTION
This is when impure or poisonous substances are put in the land, air or water.
HOW MUCH OF THE LAND AND WATER ARE GOOD FOR FARMING?
Only about 11% of the land and water are good for farming.
