Articles of Confederation

1) This is a start of a government and it made all states free and independent.2) They had close to non power unless the legislators approved.3) It allowed states to make there own armies and do foreign affairs.4) They had to get all of the states to agree to change anything.5) all 13. but 9 to make a law for a country.

Depression

1) America was going through this because they printed too much money making it worth less. They also had to pay war debts.

Shay’s Rebellion

1) Shay was the leader of the rebellion.2) The farmers rioted .3) They rioted because there land was being taken away from them.4) They saw the government as tyranny.5) They attacked a courthouse. 6) A militia killed 4 of the farmers. 7) They learned that the goverment was weak

Virginia Plan

1) Edmund Randolph or James Madison created this plan2) It had a two house legislator, a chief executive chosen by legislators, then it gave people more votes to the lower house with the more states population.3) The smaller states didn't like it because they wouldn't have any power.

New Jersey Plan

1) William Paterson wrote this plan2) One house legislator, One vote for each state, Congress could set taxes and regulate trade, they wanted to work on the AOC

Constitutional Convention

1) They called this meeting to discuss the goverment and change the Articles Of Confederation. 2) He changed his mind after Shay's rebelion 3) Everyone from lawyers shop keepers or just any important person4) 13 states had to vote to change the Articles Of Confederation 5)

Amend

1.) To make minor changes or adjustments to a text or to make it more up-to-date.2.) The delegates had to make amendments on the Articles of Confederation.

Three-Fifths Compromise

1.) This has to do with slavery. When the new acts were created, there were questions about slaves and of they would count as a person or not. They decided to count them as 3/5 a person.2.) The south wanted to count them as a whole person so they could get more delegates, but the North didn't want to since they were considered property.

Great Compromise

1.) This is what everyone agreed on, a two-house legislature. In the lower house (House of Representatives) the number of seats would vary on the population. And in the upper (Senate) each state would have exactly two.2.) I think this is a fair compromise because it mixes all the ideas together to form one.
