array
An arrangement of objects in equal rows.
denominator
Part of the fraction that tells how many fractional parts there are in the whole set. It is the second term in the ratio. e.g. 1/2, the number (2) below the fraction bar in a fraction.
dividend
A number that is divided by another number.
divisor
The number by which another is divided.
eighths
Fractional number representing a part of a whole divided equally into eight parts.
expanded form
A way to write numbers that shows the place value of each digit. 263= 200+60+3 or 263 is 2 hundreds, 6 tens, and 3 ones.
factor
The whole numbers that are multiplied to form a product. In 6x3=18, 6 and 3 are factors of 18.
multiple
A multiple of a number is the product of that number and another whole number. In 4x5=20, 20 is the multiple of 4 and 5.
numerator
Part of the fraction that tells how many fractional parts there are out of the whole or set. It is the first term in the ratio. e.g. 1/2, the number above the fraction bar in a fraction.
product
The answer to a multiplication problem.
quotient
The answer to a division problem.
sixths
Fractional number representing a part of a whole divided into six equal parts. e.g. 1/6, 2/6, to 6/6.
