Palestine
-A region at the eastern end of the Mediterranean sea where the Phonecians lived.
-The Romans had also lived there and named it after the Philistines, another group frim this region.

-once both Judah and Israel lost independence they began paying tribute to Assyria
-by paying tribute, they hoped to avoid conflict with assyria
