First step in the Bradycardia algorithm:
ASsess clinical condition
IF the patient has bradycardia and feels fine what should you do?
-Monitor airway/oxygenation
-Put them on a cardiac monitor
-IV access
-12 lead ECG
If the patient is stable and bradycardic?
Monitor and observe
If the patient is Unstable and Bradycardic?
Give 1/2 mg atropine IV bolus
How often can you repeat the atropine?
Every 3-5 min up to 3 mg
What if the atropine doesn't work?
-TCP
or Epi or Dopamine drips 2-10 mcg/kg/min infusions
What if none of that works?
Transvenous pacing and cardiology consult
What does it typically tell you if atropine doesn't work for bradycardia?
The patient probably has a more severe heart block pattern
If you choose TCP, what rhythm should you start pacing at?
60-70 bpm
