The ignition swtich, the engine kill switch, the alternator endicator, the programmed fuel injection indicator, oil pressure indicator, and the overheating indicator

What happens if the engine overheating light illuminates?
|
If the engine overheats and the red light illuminates the engine speed will gradually decrease to approximately 1800 RPM and the engine will stop after 20 seconds
|

What happens if the oil pressure indicator light de-illuminates?
|
If the oil pressure become low, less then 23 PSI at 1800 RPM, the engine speed will decrease. Stop the engine and check and service the oil level. Restart the engine. if the green light comes on the operation should be normal. If the green light stays off the engine RPM will not incerease with throttle movement
|

What happens if the red alternator indicator light comes on?
|
The red alternator light comes on if there is a malfunction in the charging system.

What happens if the programmed fuel injection red indicator light comes on?
|
The red indicator light will come on if the ECM senses an abnormality from one of the nine engine-mounted sensors. continue to carefully monitor engine performance and stop engine if performance deteriorate or become erratic
|

What happens in the event of the boat capsizing?
|
Account for all crew members, try to determine if the EPIRB has floated clear of the hull and has deployed, stay as close to the boat as possible or climb atop the capsized hull to aid in search and rescue efforts

What are the symptoms of a steering casualty and what action should be taken?
|
A sluggish response or no response when wheel is turned to port or starboard. Check for steering fluid in the starboard aft compartment and well deck, around the helm pump, and adjacent to the transom near the steering actuator.Ensure that all lines and fittings in the steering system are installed and tight.

What are the symptoms of and action for loss of control of engine RPM?
|
The throttle position changes with no apparent change in engine RPMs or no ahead or astern movement of the boat. Crewmemebers should check throttle and shift control cables, check throttle arm on engine. If required, secure engine while in gear.

What are the symptoms of and action for loss of fuel pressure?
|
Verify the fuel tank level at the guage on the coxswains console. Sound the fuel tank to ascertain the tank level. Crewmembers should check the aft compartments and the well deck for fuel, check for the presence of fuel around the engine cover, check the condition of the secondary fuel filters, Check engine lines for holes or loose connections, Check engine fuel filter and water seperator for visual contamination.

What are the symptoms of and action for loss of lube oil pressure?
|
Loss of engine power when throttle is increased, green light extinguishes on ignition panel indicatiog low oil pressure. Secure engines, check the outboard enginearea for oil, verify oil level on dipstick, check that spin-on oil filter is tightly installed, check oil drain fitting for security.

What are the symptoms of and action for engine high water temperature?
|
Loss of engine power when throttle is increased, red light (overheating indicator) illuminates on ignition control panel. Bring egnine to idle and stop, check engine cover with the back of the hand to ascertain and abnormal temperature, Check around engine for evidence of steam, If possible, tilt engine forward and check cooling water intake screen for obsructions.

|
Obvious rips and tears to collar. Check the physical condition of the collar.

What are the symptoms of and action for no power or insufficient power to the communications or navigation equipment?
|
The VHF, GPS, radar or DGPS fail to operate properly. Verify alternator output and voltmeter for each engine, Check the position on power panels of all breakers and switches for the affected equipment.
