3. Do they lean away from the group- separating self- not interested
4. Do they fidget- uncomfortable with topic or don't want to share. may be bored.
5. Do they have thier arms and legs crossed- closing themselves off. Hearing what you are saying but not interested.
6. Do members make eye contact- can they maintain it or do they avoid it. Eye contact- I'm interested, confident and listening. They can be flirtatous or aggressive- look at the rest of body language. avoid- avoiding the issues, reluctant to be inbolved or lack confidence
7. Is the group silent- look at everything else- are they thinking, are they resistant, may not feel comfortable or don't identify with group

distort issue being discussed or distorting response or request. Trying to turn the tables
How do we enable the resistive members to join the group
1. use leadership skills- active listening, reflection, clarifying, cofrontation, etc. Decide which method is the best.
2. Be aware of which stage the group is in. EX) new group- don't use confrontation
