-designed to deal with issues such as abuse, emotional, mental, health, marital, and family difficulties.

FOLLOWERSHIP- leaders can be effective only to the extent that followers are willing to accept their leadership.
What is Autocratic Leadership?
AUTOCRATIC-is a iron hand approach when the officer needs to maintain high personal control of the group.1) Needed when company is involved in a high risk situation 2) When officer needs to take immediate supervisory activity
What is Democratic Leadership?
DEMOCRATIC- a consultative approach, uses all of the group in determining how to meet an objective or complete a task.
What is Laissez-Faire Leadership?
LAISSEZ-FAIRE- free rein style moves decsion making from officer to the individual firefighters(usually experienced)
What is a Complaint, Conflict, Mistake?
COMPLAINT- is an expression of grief, regret, pain, censure, or resentment, an accusation or fault.
CONFLICT- a state of opposition between 2 parties
MISTAKE- is an error or fault resulting from bad judgment, deficient knowledge, or carelessness. Can also be a misconception or misunderstanding.
The 4 types of problems an Officer could be expected to encounter?
1. In-House Issues- situations or decisions occurring at the work location that are with the direct scope of supervisory responsibilities
2. Internal Departmental Issues- Operational policies, decisions, or activities that go beyond scope.
3. External Issues- Activities that involve private citizens or another organization.
4. High-profile Issues- any issue that is likely to become a major event.
What are the 4 functions of management?
1.Planning- means developing a scheme, program, or method that is worked out beforehand to accomplish an objective
2. Organizing- means putting together into an orderly, functional, structured whole
3. Leading- means guiding or directing in course of action
4. Controlling- means restraining, regulating, governing, counteracting or overpowering.
