Amendment XI (11)

1. This deals with each state's sovereign immunity.


2. Protects each state from being sued in federal court by someone of another state or country.


3. This was passed after the Chisholm v. Georgia to overrule the Supreme Courts decision.

1. Each person can meet in their respective states.


2. Each person can vote ballot for President and Vice-President.


3. Once all ballots are sent in, the numbers are calculated to determine who the next President and Vice-President will be.

Amendment XVI (16)


1. This allows congress to levy on taxes.


2. The do not have to divide it among the states.


3. This amendment does not include income taxes from constitutional requirements.


Amendment XVII (17)


1. The senate of the United states should be composed of 2 senators from each state.


2. If something happens to one of the senates, the person in charge of the senate from that state will write something up in order to elect a new senate and fill in that position.


3. The legislator has permission to give someone the authority if a vacancy occurs.


Amendment XVIII (18)


1. This amendment establishes the prohibition of alcohol in the United States.


2. The amendment says that it is illegal to product, transport or sell alcohol.


3. But the consumption and private owning of alcohol is not illegal.

Amendment XVIIII (19)


1. This amendment prohibits any United States Citizen being denied the right to vote.


2. This was important because they can not deny you the right to vote based of your gender.


3. But it was later imposed that states can choose the qualifications of voting.


Amendment XX (20)


1. This amendment adjusted the term lengths of President and Vice-President.


2. It also adjusted the length of members in Congress.


3. It also have provisions that determine what is to be done when there is no President-elect.

Amendment XXI (21)


1. Went against the 18th amendment which banned the selling and distribution of alcohol.


2. The transportation into any state is prohibited.


3. It says the article won't take affect unless ratified by conventions in several states.


Amendment XXII (22


1. Says that no president can be elected as president more than twice.


2. It says it shouldn't apply to any president holding office.


3. It also shouldn't prevent any person who may be holding the office of president.


Amendment XXIII (23)


1. It permits District citizens to elect presidential electors who would be in addition to the electors from the states and who participating in electing the President and Vice-President.


2. Gives people of the Districts the constitutional right to vote.


3. The congress should have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislators.

Amendment XXIIII (24)


1. Prohibits both congress and the states from conditioning the right to vote.


2. Southern states adopted a poll tax.


3. Collecting poll tax is considered constituational.

1. This was passed to explain the filling of a president vacancy.


2. Talks about how to respond to president vacancies.


3. Deals with the successions of the president.

1. Sets the age for voting.


2. This states that a person cannot be denied to vote based on their age.


3. Says that a US citizen must be 18 years old in order to vote.


Amendment XXVII (27)


1. States that there can not be an increase of a salary of a person in congress.


2. It is also the most recent amendment.


3. States that there can not be a decrease of a salary of a congressmen.
