Fire during start on ground

1. Cranking: Continue to get a start and burn accumulated fuel


2.If engine starts:


- Throttle 1700rpm for a few minutes


- Engine Shutdown and inspect for damages


2. If engine fails to start:


- Cranking: continue in an effort to obtain a start


- Extinguisher: obtain


3. Engine: Secure


- Master off


- Magnetos off


- Fuel selector off


4. Fire: extinguish using fire extinguisher, wool blanket


5. Damages: Inspect, repair damage or replace damaged components

Engine fire in flight

1. Mixture: Idle cut off


2. Fuel selector: off


3. Master: off


4. Cabin heat and air: off


5. Speed 85kias or more


6. Forced landing: execute

Electrical fire

1. Master: off


2. Electricals: off


3. Vents / Cabin heat and air: off


4. Extinguisher: activate


5. Ventilate cabin after discharging


6. If electrical power is needed for flight:


- Master on


- Fuses / Breakers: Check


- Radio electrical switches: on one at a time

Landing with a flat main tire

1. Wing flaps: as required


2. Approach: normal


3. Touchdown: Good tire first, hold airplane off flat tire as long as possible with aileron control

Landing without elevator control

1. Trim for horizontal flight


2. Adjust throttle and trim 55 KIAS & Flaps 20º


3. Then do not change elevator trim, use throttle to adjust glide


4. At flare:


- Trim full nose up


- Throttle: adjust


- Throttle: close at touchdown
