Where does renal filtration clearance take place?

glomerulus of the kidney is where CLfiltration occurs

anything smaller than albumin, so the larger a protein is, the less likely it is to be filtered in the bowman's capsule of the glomerulus

fup = unbound drug in plasma GFR = glomular filtration rate. rate of which drug is being delivered to the filtration site |

What are normal serum creatinine levels and what pathophysiology does high serum creatinine levels indicate?

normal: 0.8 to 1.3 mg/dL for men; 0.6 to 1.0 mg/dL for women
high serum levels means that it's not being cleared properly by the kidney, so there is some kind of kidney failure. creatinine fup = 1. 100% of creatinine is unbound. |
