Find 10 people from your local area who have similar education backgrounds, all speak the same language, and all are from basically the same culture. Separate them and ask them to write their opinion on only one controversial subject, such as the meaning of life.
What can you say to someone who says that the NT documents were written many years after the events took place - and therefore are unreliable?
The first three Gospels were all written within 30 years from the time the events occurred - there would have been plenty of unfriendly eyewitnesses still living who could have contradicted their testimony if it was not accurate.

Why is the prophecy about Cyrus so amazing?
He was not born for another 100 years and at the time of the prophecy Jerusalem had not yet even been destroyed, nor the temple. The order to rebuild happened 160 years after the prophecy was made.

Why is it a weak argument when Catholics say that the early church fathers accepted the apocryphal books as canon?
Because just as many did NOT accept them (notably Origen and Jerome) but denied their alleged inspiration. The early Augustine did, but later he clearly rejected these books as outside the canon.
