4.0 RECOMMENDATION ON APPLICATION OF HEALTH AND SAFETY PRACTICES Both management and employees are responsible to reduce workplace stress. Firstly, be fair to employees especially those who work on shifts. Hence, line manager is responsible to come out with flexible yet efficient duty rosters. For example, employees can leave earlier than the actual working hours to settle their matters if there are any emergency cases. But, this must make sure that their job tasks are not be affected. Again, regular exercises prevent stress. So, Grand Margherita Hotel should provide some health and wellness programs for employees. For instance, special discounts will be given if employees use fitness facilities at the hotel. It helps to calm …show more content…
Management should also organise some training which are related on how to overcome workplace stress. Once they understand, it might increase employees motivation for them to continue serve the hotel. As employees, improving quality of sleep to have enough sleep is important. Too worry or stress caused insomnia while not enough sleep creates loss of concentration. When individuals have balance sleep patterns, they will be more energetic to focus at work. Furthermore, sharing feelings and thoughts to a person who are trusted is also one of the ideas to overcome workplace stress. From there, employees get full support from their listener after problems telling. Additionally, most people tend to eat more when they feel stress. In actual fact, it is not a good practice of doing that. When work stress are overwhelming, create balance schedule is vital. Individuals must balance their times between work, social activities and family. So that, there will be no neglecting in between. Lastly, employees should tackle which tasks is priority that needed them to complete first. So that, employees are able arrange their time properly. Through workplace hazards, it is useful to know potential damages which harm mental and physical of employees. Common types of hazards are workplace stress, ergonomic hazards, falling hazards and fire hazards. Employees lose confidence, unable to focus well, feel fatigue when they are stress. Then, these create low employees’ performance and high absenteeism. Risks of human injuries are high if there are no one concern of ergonomic hazards. Therefore, organisation should look into the design of work stations in order to create proper working environment. Next, falling hazards must be preventing of reducing the rates of workplace accidents. Fire hazards are threats of fire safety. In Grand Margherita, workplace stresses are tend to happen when employees feel bored and less personal life due to heavy workloads. Employees at Grand Margherita Hotel feel that there is lack of attention as ergonomic concern are not the first priority to look into. Their body is being affected due to standing long hours at work. Anyone faced falling hazards when he or she does not walk careful or making careless mistakes at work. Again, if employees do not follow proper standard operating procedures might cause fire hazards easily.
