In the article, “Woman Cannot Compete Against Men in Sports,” Mrs. Amby Burfoot, evaluated the origin of suppression of women in sports. She brought to light the statistical facts if women can compete in sports with men then they should be treated equal. It has been found in many surveys of men and women runners alike that women are usually given an advantage, but that advantage is unneeded. It had been proven that not only can women win without an advantage but they can usually surpass their man opponent in most cases.
