I will assess the saying “Death is not the greatest loss in life; the greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live”. This follows clarification and understanding the context of the saying by using the interpretive principle of loyalty. The saying metaphorically advances to the pursuit of understanding the meaning of a life worth living making it easy to follow according to the author’s reasoning. The author addresses the need to embracing life wholeheartedly because it helps us understand the purpose of fullness and authenticity of every moment. We are alive and have to believe that the experiences of every moment drill in the shape of our values. A life is worth living because of realizing on the thoughts of purpose and forego on important things that reflect its value. My evaluation of death is that it’s a term referring to a loss of consumerism and irreplaceable moments. As a result, death means there is a stoppage of pursuing the greatness and purpose of existence. The second part of the saying states, “The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live”.
