The basic ABC song length is still fairly used, perhaps a bit longer is ideal, but the process changes drastically. Rather than scrubbing the front and back of the hand, nails are important to focus on. Bacteria will live under the finger nails, which is bad, especially for people who bite their nails. People normally do not think to wash under their nails so now whatever possible bacteria they are carrying will be transmitted onto everything and everyone they touch. In microbiology, students can see the effects of a particular bacteria and how easily it can spread. Most science majors at Alvernia, whether it be Biology, Bio-Chem or even Nursing, take some form of a microbiology course and can see how dangerous bacteria can be. With that in mind, these students need to be examples to other students and future generations.
